Like a grain of sand swallowed by the desert. Like a drop of rain that falls from darkened clouds. I am overwhelmed. I stand here awed and humbled at the feet of giants whose shadows stretch for miles. Staggering and infinite, and full of ageless grace. The universe seemed limitless. Without any time. Without any place. Staggering and infinite, the beauty of it all. I feel insignificant. Never have I ever felt so small. The world redefined, an existence without boundaries. I am overcome. I am lost within its scale.

Minami Ikki. A child of the wind, Ikki never cared much for rules, even ones that might get him beaten up by his foster sisters if he broke them. He taunted other kids, particularly Kazu, relentlessly, though it was only to bring out the latter’s inner strength. And when he grew older, he became the leader of a gang in Higachuu Middle School known as the East Side Gunz. So, from the beginning, Ikki had a lot of leadership potential.

However, he also has a lot of seemingly wasted potential. He might be a genius, but he slacks off in school. He does typical dumb boy things, and he’s a huge pervert. His smartass tendencies don’t help, either. Unless he can get serious, he’ll never amount to anything. This begins to change during the series as Ikki learns more about the Air Treck world, the price of an emblem, and that nothing is as it appears to be.

When he has the sky in mind, he will reach it at any cost. And the best part is that he believes everyone should be able to touch the sky, because Air Treck isn’t all about fighting. Ikki cares a lot about his team, which is filled with his best friends and people he has inspired with his good heart, and he likes nothing more than to help them fly with him.
